DAZE OF OLD ANXIETY
Well, we finally threw in the towel and took someone else's suggestion for New
Year's Eve. According to Budget Living Magazine (highly recommended for creative
slackers), El Govenor Motel in Mexico Beach, Florida, is pretty swanky for the
price:

Three nights for $145 for the New Year’s Eve weekend special, and the room has a
kitchenette and balcony overlooking the water!
No, it won't be warm enough to lounge on the beach, BUT the place is right on
the line between Eastern and Central time so you can count down to the new year
twice in one night, thanks to a free trolley that runs from St. Joe Beach's
supposedly divey Wonder Bar over to Toucan's Restaurant and Lounge on the other
side of the line. We'll be sorry to miss the shows here in town but it ain't
like we can't see any of those acts another time and we like to do something
different for the once-a-year party (or twice a year, if you're on the time zone
line!) that is New Year’s.
If anyone is interested in joining us for the trip, contact us for more details.
