Friday Tease-O-Rama
We had to hustle to get to the Friday night Tease-O-Rama festivities
on time so we decided we'd grab a cab and get a bite at some point
during the show. When we arrived at Bimbo's it was obvious the festival
was a hit. There was a line down the block and folks lurking around
asking for tickets. Fortunately we'd bought ours in advance and
slipped inside. I picked up my Official Photo Pass that allowed me to
shoot these pictures, and we wandered into the main ballroom.
Bimbo's is a ritzy place, more upscale than I'm used to - chandeliers,
velvet, brass and glass everywhere, a really nice place. I prefer the
down and dirty dives myself, but it leant a classy ambience to the
event.
However, unless you were one of the first fifteen folks in the door you
couldn't get a seat. We wrangled a couple of spare seats off to the side
for two of us, but two of us had to stand so we swapped from time to
time to give our feet a break. You couldn't see from the seats on the
sides anyway because soon there was standing room only and everyone
stood in front of the side tables and tables in the back. Because the
floor is level and the stage fairly low there really was no good way to
handle such a large crowd. I suppose they could've gone with
theater-style seating and abandoned the tables, but I'm sure the
waitresses and upscale clientele wouldn't have been happy with the
arrangement. Eventually some folks gave up at intermission and left so
we snagged a couple of seats close to the stage, though off to the side.
My expectations were high after Tease-O-Rama 2001.Things started off a bit slow on Friday. There was the occasional shock or thrill - gender bending, can-can lineups, singing and more. But overall, there was less imagination and creativity than I expected. Yet it was still better than any night of entertainment I'd had since last Tease-O-Rama!
The Devilettes do cute choreographed numbers. The cute blonde in the middle, Baby Doe, is one of the Tease-O-Rama organizers. |
The vivacious Harvest Moon - if you can top that at your local strip club I wanna see it! |
Kitten de Ville, one of the members of Velvet Hammer from L.A., has energy to spare. |
|
Bonnie Dunn, of Le Scandal, NYC, and Ms Tickle of the Bombshell Girls did this fun gender-bending number. |
It wrapped up with the "guy" taking his top off. Everyone expected him to be a her, but then she was covered with fake chest hair, a bit of a double surprise. |
The World Famous *BOB* did a great striptease, completed by holding a banana between her breasts and rolling a condom onto it using only her mouth. I don't think there was a male in the place that wasn't shaking his head in utter amazement. |
