Yet More from Friday
Hangman Lola from the Gun Street Girls only did one number. I was bummed, I have a massive crush on her. |
Nothing like perverse versions of Shirly Temple classics! Kitten on the Keys, mover and shaker on the SF burlesque scene, does some hilarious acts. |
Denver's Oracle Dance Troupe and Burlesque As It Was did a cute number to the tune Hey Big Spender, dancing around some lucky bastard on stage. |
Trixie Little, from Baltimore, came out as a superhero. Then came her arch-nemesis, a crazy monkey creature. He charmed her with a magic banana (no, not that kind of banana, you pervert) and made her do his bidding - a tap dance. But then she broke from the trance... |
Cherry Malone did a lovely fan dance. |
Another act that got strong responses at both ends of the spectrum was Dee Milo, one of the originators of burlesque in attendance as a special guest. I never thought septuagenarians could be sexy but she proved me wrong. Though some folks were aghast, she got the only standing ovation of the night. Not bad for someone who began her career in 1949!
