Bubbapalooza 13

Blacktop Rockets bring rockabilly tradition to Bubbapalooza, traditionally. Super smooth, high energy stuff. Back in the day, the dance floor would be wall to wall twirling swing dancers but these days it's tough to get that crowd to even show up, much less get up the energy to dance. |
But BTR bring plenty of gusto regardless. It was great to
see them, though it reminded me of other acts that weren't on the bill.
There were a few snippy comments about Slim Chance and Redneck GReece, but I
try to stay out of the gossip circuit so I don't know, and don't care to
know, why they weren't in their traditional opening and closing slots,
respectively.
But the only constant is change, right? |
Wrapping up night 1 was Rocket 350, one of the most
photogenic bands in the land. I've taken dozens of pictures of the guys
before so poke around The Vaults for more.
They crank out super high energy psychobilly stuff, complete with gymnastic antics on the bass and blistering guitar. Badass stuff that makes you wanna wreck a car. |
